On Sunday 14th June the band were delighted to perform an open-air concert “Brass on the Grass” in the Wargrave Vicarage Garden as part of this year’s Wargrave Festival. The programme started with a traditional march “Castell Coch” and then moved onto a mixture of upbeat numbers including music from films, musicals and pop music. The vicarage gardens provided the perfect venue with a raised “stage” and plenty of space for the audience to enjoy their picnics and drinks from the bar.
A small group of players returned to Wargrave on Sunday 28th June to help provide the music for the Wargrave Festival Service in the marquee on Mill Green. The service was hosted by St Mary’s Church and included a sermon by the Right Reverend Mary Gregory, the Bishop of Reading.
