The Reading Spring Gardens Brass Band is very pleased to have been awarded second place at ‘Challenging Brass 2018’ with BBb tuba player Thomas Gowers claiming the best soloist award for his terrific rendition of ‘The Teddy Bears Picnic’.

The brass band contest was held at Addlestone Community Centre on Sunday 28th October under the adjudication of Wg Cdr (Rtd) Duncan Stubbs, the former RAF Music Services’ Principal Director of Music who in summary described that the band’s performance delivered:

Some quality musical work [and] a well considered programme.

Congratulations to the winners ‘Staines Lammas’ and to ‘Pangbourne’ and ‘Amersham Community’ brass bands.

The bands in order of placing were awarded the following points:
