Musical Vitality for Reading Marathon Runners

The band provided some ‘musical vitality’ on Sunday 19th March at the 2017 Vitality Reading Half Marathon performing on route within the grounds of the SportsPark at the University of Reading.

The band’s performance was enjoyed by spectators and runners alike – with some adding several seconds to their race times to thank the band and even take their turn at conducting !

Two faces known to the band running in the event was the band’s own Chairman and cornet player, Wayne Welch and daughter Jessica, a member of Watkins Brass who were both raising funds for The Leon Heart Fund.
