Reading help raise just over £1000 for charity

‘A Festive Charity Concert’ held in support of the band’s rehearsal home of Christ Church, Woodley raised just over £1000 (one thousand pounds) for charity.

The concert, which took place on Saturday 8th December featured the Kidmore End School Choir, a local primary school in Reading who joined the band in support of the church and their charity for 2018 the Christian Blind Mission – the overseas disability charity.

Matthew Ruel, Band Chairman said:

The concert was a great success, with an audience overflowing out of the doors of the church, and judging by the comments and smiling faces, it was throroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended.  Thank you to everyone who supported The Reading Spring Gardens Brass Band, Kidmore End School Choir and Christ Church, Woodley in raising just over £1000 for the Christian Blind Mission.

The band, now in the festive mood, will be performing for the first time at The Lexicon in Bracknell on Thursday 13th December from 7pm to 9pm under the canopy outside Marks and Spencer in support of the Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading.

The band is very appreciative and grateful of the generous support it continues to receive and wishes all our supporters a very Happy Christmas.
