A Christmas charity concert held in the band’s rehearsal home of Christ Church, Woodley raised £400 for its presidents charity.
The concert, which took place on Saturday 2nd December featured the Kidmore End School Choir, a local primary school in Reading who joined the band in support of Sarcoma UK – the bone and soft tissue cancer charity.
Wayne Welch, Band Chairman said:
The concert was a great success, the band and choir came together in the second half of the concert to sing a number of our favourite Christmas songs and carols.
This festive month has also seen the band perform Christmas music and carols at: the Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading for their ‘Lights of Love’ remembrance service; The Oracle on the Riverside in Reading in support of Thames Valley Air Ambulance; and Morrisons on Rose Kiln Road in Reading collecting money in support of the band and its charitable work in 2018.
The band is very appreciative and grateful of the generous support it has received and wishes all our supporters a very Merry Christmas.
